Ancona Airport , otherwise known as Falconara Airport, is located 10Km North West of Ancona, on the Italian Adriatic Coast. Ancona airport has 2 bars/restaurants, banking facilities and 2 shops. A bus service links the airport to the town approximately every 30 minutes - tickets are available at newsagents in the terminal. There is a train station within walking distance of the terminal buildin g (with a bus service from the terminal building during the day) with trains to Ancona. Taxis are available and the journey into Ancona should cost approximately 35 Euros. Serviced by London Stansted -Ryanair.
By Car: 2hours 30 mins: Take the SS76 superstrada to Purello. Take the 318 to Perugia airport. Pick up the E45 heading towards Florence and follow the signs to get on to the SS75bis heading towards Perugia city, taking the Ponte S Giovanni turning when it appears. You will go through a series of tunnels and will pass 6 exits to the city suburbs but continue to follow the Lake Trasimeno/Arezzo/ Florence directions. Take the Magione exit into the industrial zone, pass under the SS75 and drive parallel to the main road heading north until you see a roundabout (Penny Market on your left) take the left before the supermarket exit on to the 599 (before Magione hill town in front of you) to San Savino, Panicarola, Moiano, Chiusi, Citta della Pieve. Stay on this road and after Panicarola join the SS71 to Moiano. Look for the turning left to Piegaro on the SS220 follow this road for 6km and at the T-junction turn right to Citta Della Pieve. At the T-junction (with Citta della Pieve to the right), turn right and then just before entering the town, turn left (sign posted Rome A1) down a long winding hill to Ponticelli, go straight over the bridge, straight over the cross roads, passing the garage/hotel on the right and over the second bridge (A1 Autostrada below), just at the end of this bridge turn right on to the gravel road. Do not stop at the first house, we are right at the very top of the hill.
Rail Connections: Buy tickets for Foligno, change trains for Perugia, changing regional trains at Terontola to Chiusi-Chianciano station. Cost is unknown.
From Chiusi Rail Station to us: about 10 mins
a) Walk across the road to your right and half way down the street to the the Hertz rental office or take a taxi to Avis, if you have hired a car from here.
b) Ask the taxi driver if he will go to Ponticelli, as some only drive 1 km from the station. At the large garage/ restaurant "Quo Vadis", direct the driver to the right over the A1 motorway bridge and right up the drive on the end of the bridge. It usually costs about 15.00 Euros. A local car hire firm can deliver a car to us if you prefer.
